Cyberpunk 2077 DLC: Save Your In-Game Money For Future Upgrades

Patch 1.5 for Cyberpunk 2077 could include some expensive in-game items. Players may want to consider saving some eddies for the incoming DLC.

With the next-gen versions of Cyberpunk 2077 set to arrive on the Xbox Series X/S and PS5 in the first quarter of 2022, the question has arisen whether players should be saving some in-game money for potential DLC items that could accompany patch 1.5. CD Projekt Red has confirmed it has been working intensively on the updated versions of the game, focusing primarily on eliminating bugs and improving overall gameplay stability. Although purchasable in-game items will not be the focus of the Cyberpunk 2077 patch, it’s still likely to include some new rides, threads, and weapons, and DLC continues to loom large in the narrative of coming updates.

Patch 1.3, released in August 2021, focused primarily on balance changes and performance across all platforms. However, it also introduced an alternate appearance for Johnny Silverhand, multiple jackets for V, and a new obtainable ride in the form of the sporty Archer Quartz Bandit. CDPR will probably follow a similar formula with the release of patch 1.5, adding some fresh content and purchasable in-game items.

With most monetary exploits having been patched in Cyberpunk 2077, obtaining eddies has become somewhat of a grind. Some of Cyberpunk 2077’s best gigs pay easy money, but they aren’t exactly plentiful. Hacking terminals and assisting with crimes in progress provide the biggest payouts, but these activities are time-consuming and can feel like a slog when the sole focus is farming cash. For this reason, players may want to consider hanging on to a significant stack of eddies prior to the release of patch 1.5 in Cyberpunk 2077.

Save Some In-Game Money To Be Ready For Cyberpunk 2077’s Potential DLC Items

Cyberpunk 2077: Save In-Game Money For DLC

While Johnny Silverhand’s alternate appearance and V’s new jackets were free, the Archer Quartz Bandit arrived with a price of 69,000 eddies. The Bandit can be acquired free of charge, but requires players to decline to go after Nash and his gang during the Ghost Town questline, a choice that doesn’t eliminate the chance to successfully romance Cyberpunk 2077’s Panam Palmer but can have an impact on the relationship. By the time the first round of DLC was released, most everyone was well beyond the Ghost Town quests, making it impossible for some to acquire the ride for free. Additionally, those who preferred to fully explore the badlands questlines by assisting Panam in taking down Nash would also be forced to comply with the 69,000 eddie price tag.

If CDPR follows a similar pattern with the release of patch 1.5, it’s possible that acquiring the new DLC items free of charge will be a time-sensitive endeavor. Those who have progressed too far or completed the game will likely be locked out of obtaining the new items for free, which is why players should consider saving some in-game money. Players that haven’t progressed too far simply may not want the story-related implications that accompany the free gear.

Players Can Take Advantage Of The Sasquatch Money Exploit In Cyberpunk 2077 Before It’s Patched

Money exploits are also possible before the future Cyberpunk 2077 DLC drops. Most, like repeatedly selling the Untitled-18 Brancesi painting to drop boxes, were patched in 1.3. However, there is still one very profitable exploit that can be taken advantage of during the I Walk The Line quest, the sixteenth main quest of the game. This questline sees V temporarily working alongside the Voodoo Boys, infiltrating a mall in Pacifica to take down a netrunner.

The exploit can be performed immediately after the fight with Sasquatch as she lays exhausted and defeated on the ground. Placide will offer V 15,000 eddies to execute Sasquatch. If players save during the dialogue options right as the offer is presented, they can then execute Sasquatch, claim the reward, and repeat the process by simply reloading the save file. This glitch works similarly to the Pang of Conscience exploit in The Witcher 3, allowing players to farm an infinite amount of money ensuring they will be prepared to purchase whatever items may accompany patch 1.5.

Minimal content has been added to Cyberpunk 2077 in the year since its release, so new items are probably going to be introduced along with the next-gen updates. These items are likely to be very expensive, so players looking for minimal story impact should be prepared to drop some significant money. Barring any unforeseen delays, it won’t be long until the next-gen versions of Cyberpunk 2077, along with whatever purchasable DLC items the patch contains, are here.
