Lisa Rinna and Sutton Stracke’s falling out over an Oscars party on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills doesn’t add up. Here is what we know.
Tonight The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills viewers watched as the feud between Lisa Rinna and Sutton Stracke heated up regarding whether or not an Elton John Oscar Gala table was rescinded. The women often squabble about petty issues, but party-gate seems to be taking the cake as of late. Fans want to get to the bottom of what really went down.
Once upon a time, Lisa and Sutton were actually close friends. For both RHOBH seasons 10 and 11, the ladies seemed to get on really well as they bonded over shopping and fundraising. However, it seems like their friendship status has changed to frenemy after Sutton appeared on Watch What Happens Live, where she proceeded to call out Lisa and her husband, Harry Hamlin, for not giving her the proper thanks after she bought a table at Elton’s gala. Sutton was only trying to point out that a thank you goes a long way, especially after Lisa went hard for Garcelle Beauvais after she failed to thank her husband for the pasta sauce he gifted her. Alas, the point was missed, and the drama ensued.
So who is telling the truth? In RHOBH episode 2, both Sutton and Lisa seem to have their own tale to tell regarding the Elton John gala. Fans became a bit confused as the women bickered back and forth at Harry’s 70th birthday party. The rest of the ladies sat, listened, then acted as the judge, juror, and executioner when it came to each story. Here is what was revealed.
Sutton stated on WWHL that she had invited both Lisa and Harry to the Elton John fundraiser, noting she never got so much as a thank you card. Lisa clapped back via Instagram, noting she didn’t come as Sutton’s guest, but rather the famous singer had invited them. Sutton replied, “we are going to have words.” Sutton then shared with Crystal Kung Minkoff that she was sorry she even brought up the subject.
For her part, Lisa shared that she was disappointed with Sutton, noting to Kyle Richards it was “a choice” to say what she said on TV. Lisa even shared that her husband, Harry, had texted Sutton, writing, “Sutton, we’ve been going to this event as guests of Elton’s for years and years. I don’t know what you’re doing, but whatever you’re doing, you need to stop.” Lisa was clearly appalled that Sutton would try to tarnish her and Harry’s reputation.
As the ladies gathered to celebrate Harry’s 70th birthday, Lisa and Sutton went head to head. The soap opera actress called out the Georgia native after Sutton tried to make amends by saying she may have spoken out of turn. Lisa doubled down and insisted Sutton did not purchase a table accusing the blonde of canceling her table at the last minute. Lisa revealed Harry’s publicist said that the gala emailed to share that there were no tickets left. However, Sutton was prepared, as she bought the receipt and email exchange with the gala showing she had indeed paid for a table. RHOBH is just heating up, but it looks like party-gate can finally be put to bed.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EST on Bravo.
