During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live alongside her daughter, Riley, as a bartender for the night, Andy brought up the subject of Riley’s father, music producer Russell “Block” Spencer, with whom she’s very publicly estranged from.
During the segment, Andy addressed Riley and asked, “Has your relationship with your father improved at all?”
The question caught Riley off-guard, but she quickly composed herself and answered, “I don’t remember the last time I spoke to him, so that answers that question.”
Kandi recently made an appearance on Christian Snow’s The Sl*t Pig podcast and said she felt Riley “handled” the situation maturely. However, she is not happy that Andy brought up the subject as it’s remained a sore spot for Kandi and Riley, something Andy knows.
“I didn’t say anything to him about it, but I didn’t really like when he brought up my daughter’s father to her on camera on ‘Live,’” Kandi told the podcast.
Kandi expressed that she was doubly upset because Riley wasn’t even supposed to be on WWHL the night in question, but because the original bartender for the show couldn’t make it, Riley filled in as a favor to Andy.
“She just so happened to be the bartender,” Kandi explained. “There was somebody else that was supposed to be the bartender, but they were late. [Riley] was there, so they were like, ‘Oh, you wanna be the bartender?’
“It wasn’t like she was prepped or anything, so it kind of caught her off guard,” Kandi continued before adding that Riley’s relationship with her father, is a “sensitive subject.”
However, there is some good news that Kandi and Riley have gotten recently.
Kandi won her 2021 child support case against Russell, something Riley was equally proud of.
“OK, well, I feel like my father never really did anything. It’s time for him to at least provide something when I’m going away to college,” she said in 2020.
And the courts definitely agreed.
