Bulldogs Brent Naden scares LIFE out of reporter – who stops herself from calling him rude name

Footy star’s creepy stunt in an airport full of people scares the life out of Nine reporter… and she almost calls him a VERY rude name

  • Bulldogs Brent Naden has scared reporter Emma Lawrence in a news cross
  • The 2022 recruit crept up on Lawrence after arriving at Brisbane airport
  • The Bulldogs had nothing to celebrate after an embarrassing loss to the Knights

Bulldogs back Brent Naden has pulled off a classic jump scare on Channel Nine reporter Emma Lawrence – leaving her so stunned she had to stop herself from calling him a ‘motherf***er’.

Canterbury’s new recruit arrived at Brisbane Airport on Friday afternoon before the Dogs’ Magic Round opener against the Knights.

The 26-year-old was seen creeping up on Emma Lawrence, who joined Nine last year after leaving Channel 10 news.

Naden snuck up on NRL rugby league reporter Emma Lawrence, scaring her as she was preparing for a live cross

Naden moved up beside Lawrence and screamed in her ear while she prepared for a live cross – leaving her and everyone else in the vicinity absolutely shocked.

Lawrence spun around and muttered ‘mother…’ before barely stopping herself from finishing the swear word.

The reporter posted Naden’s prank to her Instagram story on Friday night with the caption: ‘Thanks @bnaden3 for the mild heart attack’.

NRL on Nine reposted the scare to Instagram on Saturday morning with the caption: ‘News crosses aren’t easy’.

Wide World of Sports rugby league presenter James Bracey is heard in the video laughing and saying, ‘What were you going to say there, Emma?’

The reporter is the sister of former Wests Tigers star Chris Lawrence, who played 253 games at the club from 2006-2020.

Lawrence debuted for the Tigers as a 17-year-old schoolboy, days before his HSC exams, and retired in 2020 after his career was plagued by hip and facial injuries.

Naden wouldn’t have been laughing a few hours after his practical joke, as the Bulldogs lost 16-6 to the Knights in an embarrassing team performance.

Matt Dufty’s second blooper in as many weeks summed up Canterbury’s night, as the fullback fell for a Matt Clune dummy despite him having no teammates to pass to.

The Bulldogs plunged to the bottom of the ladder with just two wins in 10 games and fans pointed out they are ‘worse than last year’.

In front of 30,220 people at the opening game of Magic Round, the Knights did just enough to snap a seven-game losing streak and move off the foot of the table.

Walking into the sheds 6-6 at halftime, Barrett’s Bulldogs proved once again they struggle to put points on the scoreboard.

Canterbury got off lightly, as Knights prop Daniel Saifiti had a try disallowed for obstruction, while forwards Leo Thompson and Pasami Saulo both knocked the ball on over the tryline.

The Bulldogs sit on four competition points after 10 rounds, putting even more pressure on coach Trent Barrett.
