Will he bring an added dimension for the Toffees?

57 mins: Cesar Azpilicueta tries to inject a bit of pace into the attack with a run down the right channel before passing the ball up wide to James. Mykolenko lunges into a challenge, wins the ball and stops the attack but he knocks it behind for a corner in the process.

54 mins: Reece James is booked for time-wasting when trying to take a throw in. The referee’s have made it a priority to cut out on time wasting this season but this card seems harsh with so long left on the clock.

51 mins: This is nice from Everton. McNeil runs past Koulibaly and Thiago Silva on his way into the box and attempts to square it into the middle of the box only for an interception to turn the ball out of play.

The corner is whipped into the middle and there’s a desperate scramble before Mendy manages to smother the ball.

48 mins: Chance! The ball is chipped over the top and Thiago Silva finds himself in a race with Demarai Gray that he’s never going to win. He gestures for Edouard Mendy to come and clear the ball but the goalkeeper holds his ground.

Silva sprints into the box and positions himself between Gray and the goal. The Everton forward drills a shot towards the far bottom corner but the defender manages to deflect the effort wide of goal.

Yerry Mina was booked for Everton just before Jorginho’s penalty for arguing with the referee. He’ll need to keep himself in check during the second half as the Toffees can’t afford to lose another defender.
