Ramirez accused the entertainment industry of hypocrisy, claiming that while awards are given, casting directors and agents create blacklists for those supporting Palestinians in Gaza, ensuring they won’t find work again. The actor also criticized the industry for recognizing organizations with ties to weapon manufacturers involved in conflicts affecting Palestinians.

@Fauxmoi reposted Ramirez’s call-out on Reddit, where people showed support and discussed the current Hollywood scenario. Netizens expressed displeasure over awards shows amid the conflict in Palestine and commended Ramirez for standing up for their beliefs.

The discussion expanded to include other pro-Palestine celebrities like Gigi and Bella Hadid. Some criticized the apparent double standard in the industry, citing the unthreatened career of Israel-supporter Gal Gadot.

Amidst allegations of blacklisting, actors Susan Sarandon and Melissa Barrera faced consequences for their comments on the Israel-Hamas war. Barrera, who called the war “genocide and ethnic cleansing” on Instagram stories, was dropped from the upcoming Scream VII by Spyglass Media Group.

The company cited zero tolerance for hate speech. Sarandon exited from “Slipping Away” after making comments about Israel during a pro-Palestinian rally, including chanting a slogan deemed antisemitic.
