“Tamaiti Williams Returns to All Blacks Squad for Clash Against Fiji”
Rookie loosehead prop Tamaiti Williams is poised to make his comeback to international rugby against Fiji in San Diego this weekend, following a lengthy absence due to injury. Williams debuted as a replacement during New Zealand’s Rugby Championship victory over South Africa in Auckland last year and has since earned eight Test caps.

Williams, who endured most of the Crusaders’ season sidelined by a serious hamstring injury, expressed eagerness to make up for lost time in his return to the starting lineup. “I can’t wait to rip in,” Williams remarked. “The scrum has been strong for us.”
Having returned to action during the latter stages of the Super Rugby Pacific campaign with the Christchurch-based Crusaders, Williams is relishing his international comeback. “The trainings have been intense, but it’s satisfying to see the team translate that hard work onto the pitch and reap the rewards against a strong England pack,” he added.
After missing out on selection for the All Blacks’ recent series win over England, Williams is determined to seize his opportunity against Fiji. “I’m fortunate to get a chance on Friday, and I’ve been building towards this moment,” he emphasized.
Meanwhile, fellow Crusaders and All Blacks back-rower Ethan Blackadder echoed Williams’ sentiments following a challenging period disrupted by injuries. “There have been many frustrations along the journey, but my ambition and desire to return to this environment kept me going,” Blackadder stated.
“I received tremendous support during my rehabilitation, for which I am grateful. It’s exciting to be back playing rugby, especially for the All Blacks, making this moment even more special,” he added.
Blackadder acknowledged the inclusion of several new faces in the All Blacks squad for the Fiji test but expressed confidence in their ability to perform on the international stage. “We’ve focused on maintaining an edge this week as we prepare for a tough match,” he affirmed.
