Downhill start to ski season in CNY
Jon Spaulding, Downhill Greek Peak’s marketing director, shared, “We had a promising start to the Thanksgiving weekend, but then Mother Nature threw some challenges our way with the rain, especially yesterday. However, as you can see behind me, the snowmakers are back in action, and we plan to be open on Wednesday and, optimistically, for the rest of the season.”

So far this season, Greek Peak has experienced approximately 13 ski days, aligning with the 114 days they had last season.
Downhill
Jon informed NewsChannel 9, “Our target is a hundred-day ski season. It’s a relatively short window, so we aim to maximize skiing and fun within those hundred days.”
To achieve this goal, the resort has invested over three and a half million dollars in new pipes, airlines, and snow guns, incorporating advanced technology. These systems have been operational since November, tirelessly producing snow in anticipation of this year’s season.
Ayden Wilber, Greek Peak’s vice president of operations, detailed, “Currently, we can cover about 24 football fields with a foot of snow in just 24 hours.”
This technological enhancement ensures that guests have a compelling reason to return year after year.
Reflecting on the sense of community, Ayden added, “Over the last 12 years, I’ve seen many familiar faces. It’s great to have everyone here for the holidays. It really feels like one big family.”
In the spirit of giving back, Greek Peak launches “Mountains of Giving” this Thursday, Dec. 21. During this initiative, your ticket purchase will contribute to feeding local families through donations to the food pantry.
