Rumor Roundup (Dec. 26, 2023): The Rock’s Involvement in Elimination Chamber, AEW Departures, William Regal’s Future, and More!

The Western Australia tourism board,Rumor Roundup which facilitated WWE’s Elimination Chamber event in Perth, reportedly made a request for Dwayne Johnson, popularly known as The Rock, to appear at the show. However, it’s crucial to note that this was merely a request, and there is currently no confirmation regarding The Rock’s participation in the event.

In other wrestling news, AEW Vice President of Live Events and Touring, Rafael Morffi, is departing from the company. According to reports from Fightful Select, Morffi is set to take on a new role booking acts for Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.

Dana Massey, who recently left AEW, reportedly found the environment challenging and felt that The Young Bucks were not adequately defended by the company during a critical period. Dave Meltzer, speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, also suggested that AEW’s lack of support for Massey when CM Punk criticized a merchandise error on Instagram could have influenced her decision.

Former AEW manager William Regal is expected to be free from his non-compete clause soon, as per the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. While Regal initially expressed disinterest in appearing on television after leaving AEW, speculation persists that he might return to a role as an on-screen authority figure.

In NXT signings, WWE has recruited Brogan Finlay, a fourth-generation wrestler and the son of Fit Finlay. Madi Wrenkowski has also reportedly finalized her NXT deal after earlier indications of her signing.
